There's nothing to see here ... move along.

What makes you think the entries have been confirmed? ... and even if they have been, they haven't been released as far as I know. I believe a "first cut" was done, but not released, and that was done before the entries were closed. They should be released any day though, so the ASO has probably made the decisions but competitors aren't notified yet?

I certainly haven't heard anything on my entry application. Does "no news is good news" apply?

Wel they have informed those who have not made the cut. A friend of mine in holland got confirmation that he will not be granted a start. Insufficient experience. Amateur enduro champ, amateur top 10 Dutch motocross, amateur 125cc road racer , only one road book rally.

Always next year

I know of one french rider and one british that have confirmations on the online dossier.

Maybe the euros are finding out first.

Still no update in my online dossier. Waiting sucks!
So many things are "on hold" pending this decision/notification. C'mon ASO, get this over with!

I seem to recall, that the past few years have had 'Media Releases' regarding the speed at which entries have filled.

This has been largely to do with entrants of the Moto class.

I have not seen any similar announcement this year.

Perhaps they have not bothered with an announcement this year, or, entries have not been poured in as fast as they have in other years?

Let the stories begin for 2014!

I love seeing participant threads start popping up in the racing forum.

The Dakar website shows a release in the news section that they received 300 entries and are oversubscribed. There are only about 200 spots available - they "hold" 40 spots for the factory pilots. So pretty much same deal as most years with many to miss out.

Still waiting ... ... ...

From Dakar's website (a week old, but on-topic):

"15 May saw registrations open for the 2014 edition of the Dakar Rally . . . the bike and quad categories are already full and it is now time to select the candidates who will be taking part in the adventure.

"The Dakar organising teams received 300 applications . . . this is a figure that is hovering closely around the record set in 2012 which had not been seen since the rally was last held in Africa. It confirms the rally's success on South American soil.

"The increasingly international trend continues unabated: 10 different Latin American nationalities could be joining the Dakar's “traditional” riders (French, Italian, Spanish) . . . whereas 53 nationalities were represented at the start in the 2013 edition."

It seems that ASO sends the "Yes" letters first and sends the "No" letters later on.

If you don't have run (and finished) at least one rally from the FIM rally raid world cup (like the Pharaons, UAE Desert Challenge - Dubai, Sardaigna, etc..) then you have no chance to receive a "Yes". This is cleraly written in thei subscriptions information.

It seems that one way to see if you are in the "Yes" list is to go to your registration web page in the Dakar web site.

Go to the section "My vehicles" and check your status.
Inscrit ("registered") means your registration is confirmed.
Previously this status was "candidate".
I imagine another status will be "refused" if you are not in the "Yes" list.
