40,000km birthday presents..

Well, with 40,000 km's on the clock the Tiger is looking a bit second-hand in places..

Radiator.

Nice ding in the filter since the last change..

Thought it might be time for some protective bits.

Hmmm..

Oooo..

Ahhh..

Well, that should help a bit..

Cheers,

JM.

Nice pieces you got there.
What brand is the sump guard? - I don't recognise the AS.
I like the look of the RadGuards, but havn't seen them in the flesh on a WetHead GS yet so I'm still thinking on them.
That ding in your oil filter reminds me that shite does happen, so perhaps I ought to get organised.

G'day,

The bash plate is a UK-based Adventure-Spec product.

I'm really pleased with the service from both companies and the quality of their products.

The RadGuard is well-made and was very simple to fit.

And yes, we have been somewhat complacent with bike protection, believing that the light off-loading we do simply isn't enough to warrant the extra bits.. Until now. That ding in the filter was pretty close to being a rupture. I have no idea where and when it happened, either. As I was looking at the filter, I had a close perusal of the radiator. The photos don't show it very well, but there are more than a few impacts in the radiator and I'm surprised it hasn't failed previously..

I'm sure that I'll be criticised for poor bike maintenance and blah-de-blah, but I follow more of a ride now worry later kinda maintenance schedule

..as long as there is air in the tyres, fuel in the tank and the chain gets the occasional lube, we're good to go. The Tiger has been super-reliable for the past 35,000km's of ownership. However, this has been a reminder that there are some vulnerable and expensive exposed areas on most bikes..

Anyway, I'm glad that my shoddy preventative maintenance and bike protection theories have been dispelled 'coz it's always fun to get parcels in the mail and glue new things to bikes

Thanks for reading.

Cheers,

JM.
