I wasn't too worried about it breaking (although quite a few people in a German forum have seen their windshield crack where it mounts to the bracket, probably from vibration and flopping around at higher speeds) and more about what it means for the airflow.

A flopping, vibrating shield generates more buffeting compared to a stable one.

But as said, the shield on the new GS works very well. Nearly as well as the Palmer windshield I have on my Tiger which is the best in terms of noise I have ridden with so far. The BMW gives more protection, but also more noise and some buffeting at higher speeds.

A common error that people make when affixing a windscreen is to over tighten the fasteners. This leads to cracks.

Guys,
There are threads for general, for farkles, for problems etc...
This one is about the new upcoming GSA. Can we make an effort to keep it on topic?

No. There is nothing new so acting like children is how we will spend our time until there is something to talk about.

I agree with you on the torque issue. The new bike feels like it has MORE torque down low when compared to my '05. Maybe the camhead was better..
My GSW is definately more powerful down low than my '11 GSA camhead was. I never rode a camhead GS so I cannot comment on that.

The GSW will easily powerwheelie if the traction control is off or it's in Enduro Pro mode. The bike has tons of low end torque.

I think it's November this year. Dates are quite close to the NEC one over here. If i remember right - the NEC got the world launch of the last gen GSA. Old Charlie Boorman was involved if memory serves me. But i could be wrong.

Maybe in 2018 but not before. Can't be wider than the current engine so back to the drawing board :-)
