I've been using HiFlo oil filters in my 990 since 2008 and have never had one come unglued.

Interesting, where did you read this problem with the HF filters? Please share the details.

In my experience its been a quality product. I've used them in all my bikes(KTM's, BMW, Ducati) for the past 5 years with out any issue. And they are used by several OEM's.

I thought Hiflow still make the KTM OEM oil filters. http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/ne_nau.gif
I bought a ton of Thumper (large & small) and LC8 filters off ebay from someone going out of business about ~6 years ago. Still have a lot in my garage. But been through maybe 30 of them between my 525/950se & 990 Adv over that time, not one single issue.

KTM warranty

do think KTM would void my warranty if I would have an engine fail? I read about them coming unglued (hf158 only) here but I can't find it.
thanks, garfield

I have used about 10 of these so far and never noticed any difference in them vs. the OEM, oh except the roughly $16 more per filter. If you don't mind throwing out an extra $16 each time you throw out your filter, by all means, go with the OEM branded filters.

I went with the oem, as this service will last to the end of my warranty period. HiFlo from now on!
thanks for your input all
