let me get it right

Correct me if I am wrong. The large black socket head screw in the centre of the new fork cap is for spring preload ( turned with a 10mm Allen key ) and the 3mm red and silver screws are for rebound and compression damping.

That's right . One fork leg does compression the other rebound.

GA,
have you had chance to give it a workout yet. Work is spoiling my lifestyle for another couple of weeks.

test

Work is finally slowing down. Managed to get the F8 for a bit of a run on heavily corrugated gravel road. It was dusty with quite a few washouts and the front end was rock solid and very predictable.

I have two turns in on the preload plus two in on both compression and rebound. Can't wait to get out on some rougher tracks in the coming weeks.

Now for the rear

Out in the rd now... Must be nearly a month now

Yeah digging em.. much smoother on those stupidly corrogated outback rds, better tracking in sand and bulldust, better on steep rocky hillclimbs, better on blah blah blah blah and blah.......

Ohlins Option

In looking at Fork and Shock Options for the 800GS, I thought you guys would like to know that the Ohlins FKA kit for the fork has stopped being a one off special production item as it used to be, and as such is much more affordable.
$1461 including springs.
Definite magic carpet ride quality and control. Feel free to ping us if this is of more interest now that the price is in better line with the other options. Or with any other suspension questions.

Cheers

James

Also for 2013

There is an Ohlins option for the 2013 as well FWIW.

Cheers

James

Excited about the Ohlins news, I need to do my suspension in the future; will be watching closely for reviews and accounts with how it does!

Hello GA,

Another Local South Ozzy.
I am looking to pull the trigger on the Traxxion upgrade. How are you finding them?
Do they match you expectations?

Cheers

luv em

Ozzy,
I am more than happy with mine. Service from US was great. Six days from ordering to delivery ( NSW ) They are a piece of cake to fit and are so much better than standard. I have used the bike on everything from tar road to rutted root infested fire trails ( but not gnarly single track ) and are confidence inspiring.

Having said that the bike definitely not a WR450!
