After some exploring I wanted to find a place to wash the nuts and hotspots

So back down off the mountain to what read as Parker Creek on the GyPSy

Ran into a small herd of meat barriers, 2 mammas with 2 babies

This is really a great report, particularly for those of us who don't ride offroad. Your photos and videos are outstanding. Really enjoying this...

Back in 2010 I drove a rental car past Lake Mono on 167. Then headed North on 395 to get back to Reno. he short cut.

Ow some area. Wish I had the Wee out there.

One straight road.

Enjoy man.

All cleaned up and still and hour or so of daylight

Explored dirt roads paralleling 395 toward Mono Lake

Figured I should try and see South Tufu since I am so close

My view of Mono Lake from the ridge road

Got out to the Tufu formations and the cell phone reception was great!!

So good, in fact, that I didn't make the hike out

Instead I called Mamma in Thailand on Skype and saw my beautiful daughter for a bit

Raced the sunset back to that waypoint I made earlier up on the hill

Made it, just in time

Got set up while we still had light

4 minutes...not bad

Not a bad spot to enjoy a little camp brew

Small marina and camp spots down below

Selfy

Hit the sack with plugs in, the wind was really whipping the fly around

It was one helluva good day!

Riding with DAAANG was awesome!!

Finding all this great dirt and beautiful campsite was quite awesome as well

I laid my head down full of gratitude

GOOD MORNIN

Joe first, all else waits

Climb up the hill a bit

Nice boulder to sit and watch the sun come up

The wind had completely died over night

It was as still and quiet as I had ever known

Nice view of Mono

Once the sun broke over the range

It was time to turn around and enjoy the show

As the Sierras were painted in great hues of early morning red

I enjoyed the show for more than an hour until the reds went to yellows and the warmth of the day returned

Time to get all packed up and get to going

Leave No Trace

Down off the Mountain

Through the small town of Bridgeport

Had to stop to smell the cows

The look of the old courthouse makes you want to come back for a visit...maybe fight that ticket...you will lose

Up into the hills and RIGHT onto Masonic Road

Bridgeport Reservoir

After a few miles of dirt and climbing

I came upon the first set of ghosted out buildings

Chemung Mine click

you climb it first

This old car had been here for quite sometime..looks like these sablings had grown around it and she wasn't coming out without a chainsaw

Good thing these were boarded up or I would been right down that hole!! Just kidding

This place was sooooo dang cool!!! I could've spent all day here....now the night, maybe...but not Saturday Click that link

Another shout out to the Tidewater Adventure Group

from Masonic Mines I had planned to go to Bodie

but I couldn't just go the quickest route

See that road down there? I want to go there.

Don't know it's name, where it goes or how to get there...but I figure it's in Nevada and I want to go there

So we set off down the dirt with a cardinal direction in mind

Crossed over East Walker River...the breeze off the water was real nice

Success....after a few miles and some turn arounds I was on the road I saw from way up top

Alright, now where is this Bodie place?
