No, I had to push my bags against his bag to get it off the sidestand, then his clutch lever left a mark on my bag to get it past. It was stupid tight.

I've been in the same situation as JVB. Once was with a little 50cc scooter. I just picked it up and slid it's rear wheel onto the curb so I had clearance to stand up the GS. I've also had cars park that close, some even touching the right cylinder. That is a little trickier, and usually results in scratched bumpers.

I take my r100gs of the side stand then mount it from the left. I will all way sit on the bike to full up and only use the centre stand when the bike is parted in the shed at night
