Depends on what model you are looking for. All you ever wanted to know about F650s can be found at the Chain Gang web site: f650.com. Go to the forums section and check out the discussion forum.

Bmw states their new price on the website. http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/machin...p?model=f650gs

Then, it all depends on the setup price from a local dealer. If you have more than one dealer, you may get a better deal. It would be a good idea to read some on the www.f650.com to find out any problems and to see if it is worth upgrading to the ABS. Also you may want to consider "add on's". Think about Luggage and/or heated grips, so that your hands don't .

Yeah, what is the deal on price with these. The current base sticker prices (ignoring options and negotiating on real price here) stated on the BMW site are:

F650GS: $7500
F650GS Dakar: $9390

Is that a new, lower price for the regular GS? The Dakar price hasn't dropped -- will it? I don't remember such a price spread between these two when I bought my Dakar...but I dunno.

I recently sold my 02 GS. It had luggage, Lots of extra stuff. Selling price was $5200.00 I offered upgrades and discounts I ended up with about 5k for it. I was happy with that price.

But don't let price reductions fool you. Good F650s are still in high demand. They will sell at or greater than high book. If you find one that is in the conditon that you want. You might be better served by thinking what the bike is worth to you.

My guess is that is not $1500 less than last year...and you can't compare sticker price to end deal price, you have to compare apples to apples, and the only close way to do what is to compare sticker prices when looking at new bikes.
