My neighbor, a Fireman was one of the crew that went in & recovered the bodies. He knew them all & said about 7 or 8 were new within the last year or two. I am going to try & put together a 2 or 3 day benefit ride in Sept. West into CA desert & loop back through Parker.

Have an idea for a ride mid Oct. Possibly 20th,21st,22nd? Or possibly a week later. Across to Laughlin, overnight there. Across the Mojave trail to Kelbaker RD. South to 40 & south east on Sunflower Spring Rd. east around Parker Dam & over night in Parker or a night ride back home. Benefit for the Prescott 19. Anything you want to contribute. Split up in groups. 19 total riders, groups of 5,5,5& 4. Any one interested post up. Should be big bike doable. Need range, 150.

Tom, I'm in.
Last Saturday 4 of us rode out to Yarnell to the memorial to pay our respects. I was amazed at the smell of smoke, still(I know it was just the wet ground) and the aura of pain and sorrow was thick in the air. One of the guys that rode with us is a Prescott Fire Captain. Needles to say it was quite an emotional time.
Well worth the trip.

Showing the love

Here is what we have been working on to help generate finacial suport for the ones in need and then we (PGA Professionals are adding $25,000) to go along with everything else we raise.

The SWSPGA is assisting with a fundraising effort for the Yarnell Fire that has included a Golf Event (August 2nd at Gainey Ranch) , a Fill the Boot Campaign that also ends on August 2nd AND an Auction that will run though Saturday August 10th at Noon! The Auction website is www.azgolfauction.com ----PLEASE forward this to all of your golfing members to ensure that we get maximum exposure for these items. You can view---and bid---on each of the items:

Visit the Yarnell Fire Golf Fundraising Auction site by clicking this link www.azgolfauction.com

Thanks for your support.

One last chance

Just an update. So far over $100,000.00 has been raised and the last opportunity is the auction we have running here. www.azgolfauction.com

Good luck if your bidding on anything.

Media

Here is a clip from the day. We had 5 different tv stations there and alot of other media as well to help gain as much support as we could get. Good clip with the lone survivor present to help us put on a great event.

I got my 10 stickers for all my cars/trucks/bikes, nice work. AZ Tom, wish I could join your ride, maybe I can donate something when you get all the particulars figured out, sounds like a great ride, if I could go it would be doable for sure on my Beta 520RS with the Dez tank, she gets easy 150. Maybe next time.
Closing escrow on my house in Prescott by the end of the month. Will soon be a boarder jumper for the next four years and then permanent after. I will be looking for people to ride with. Other than that, I'll do day explorations with my son from the driveway.
