She wants it!

OK, I'm slightly pissed off! My wife, the bitch, whom I love very much wants a god damned F700 GS in matt black. She currently has a very nice '08 Versys, with a few farkles for comfort. Her birthday is coming up, but she's been waffling around about (maybe some farkles for my Versys, maybe this, maybe that.....she drives me f'ing nuts with this shit!) God damnit!. She rides her current bike to work maybe twice a week. (says she'll ride the new one every day..my ass) I should never have let her ride. She stole my '11 Kawi Super Sherpa, forcing me to buy a used DRZ 400 when we were traveling full time. Now that we're settled down, here we go again! I might add that she's dropped the Versys 3 times doing dumb shit at virtually 0 mph: (front brake in a parking lot, holding the clutch in as I've taught her in traffic at a light, but let go of the clutch to "wave" at another biker who waved at her, and another time on the highway (stuck in traffic on I-17 due to an accident) said she put her foot down and stepped on a pebble, down she went. Is this a woman who deserves a new bike??? I know a lot lot of you are going to say (Damn, wish my wife rode or some such stuff) but really? By the way, I ride a 25 yo BMW K75; if anyone should be looking for a new bike, it's me! I'm at my wit's end! What's your advice?

So what makes her any different than the rest of us, we're all bike whores. I've got an 08 GSA 1200, just bought my son's 04 Guzzi Bellagio with 2k miles, and desperately want a beautifully restored fully stock 72 Norton Commando I found in Oregon.
No offense brother, but you sound like a cheap bastard to me.

Say something like:

"Sure dear, buy it. I'm sure you can afford it, plus I'll take the versys off your hands for $849"

I can't talk, I'm the exact same position - just my lady wants a bike that costs a tenth the price of the GS.

Lucky you! A $1000 bike is always a bargain!

To the OP, man up for doG's sake. Most men would be thrilled to be in your position!

Hey....if Mama ain't happy then NOBODY'S happy.

Got a different situation here but same WTF factor.

Past few years we have been traveling 2-up quite a bit and having a really great time.

Last summer SWMBO wanted to replace the dog we had 6-7 years ago.

There goes the 2-up trips and now we have 2 dogs. I don't have 500 miles on the K bike this year

Is this logical or practical? NO.

Pure bred German Shepard......................$700
Rescue mutt to keep GS busy...................$260

Happy Mrs.?............................................p riceless

Just look at how much I am saving on tire wear

Hey 390beretta - I'm flying to your valley this month. I'm finally going to buy my own place there instead of storing a bike at my ex place in cave creek. Thinking of a patio home or some such dwelling in Scottsdale.

On your spouse, consider yourself lucky. I mean she could be yearning for a Mercedes SL!

Exactly. You don't sound thrilled with the K75, so the Versys should be a nice upgrade for you.

Will the F700 be available for you to ride when she isn't on it? If so, double bonus!

Option 2: sell the Versys as well, and get yourself a Triumph 800XC to match her new bike. You can tell everyone your relationship is like WWII.
