Tommy Knocker Rocker Knocker Ride, July 14

This is a ride that I've been doing for a few years, thought I might invite some others that might be interested. It starts in Idaho Springs does a big loop and ends in Idaho Springs at Tommy Knockers Brewery. The ride is roughly 70 miles, mostly consisting of jeep roads like Spring Creek, Saxon Mtn, Kingston Peak and some other trails I don't know the names of. This ride does require a plated bike, but not a big bike due to the amount of rocks.

We are meeting at the parking lot south of I70 about 200 yards up Hwy 103 on the east side. Wanting to start riding about 9am Sunday July 14.

Joe, this sounds awesome. Sign me up. Thanx again for the risers! I'm going to cross post to Colorado Dual Sport Riders to spread the word further. I've been wanting to do Kingston Peak.

I think Wolfman posted in another thread that Kingston Peak, which appears on your itinerary, is closed. I hadn't noticed it before, but it's on the Boulder Ranger District's road status page. Last update was today. Maybe by the weekend things will change...

The sign on the Kingston gate says open 7/15 - 11/15.

Talked to Clear Creek Ranger District, they said they were going to open it later this week. Hopefully that is the case, otherwise route will be slightly modified.

I'll be riding my XR400 from Littleton. Drop off at my place and ride with me if you'd like.

I will be there on my 500
If you are not familiar with these tails then i would suggest the lightest bike. The route basicly strings together the most rocky and steep trails that we could find. Spring creek is probably the worst section.
