Binman, try doing the reset of the TPS by turning on the ignition BUT NOT STARTING THE BIKE and then slowly opening the throttle to full wide open and then also slowly returning it to completely shut, pause 5 seconds and repeat this a couple of more times. Then turn off the ignition WAIT 15 SECONDS and then start the bike and go for a ride as normal.
See if that gets rid of your flat spot for you.

You are correct in being disappointed with BMW Motorrad customer service, in short, they do the same thing in a lot of parts of the world. BMW is trading on an old reputation and I wonder how many first time owners they are keeping as customers for another bike. I doubt I will every buy another BMW product, same goes for two regular riding partners here, one has gone KTM and the other is going Suzuki.
