That's the reason Wings and Remus are so small while the OEM or Akra are so big.
It's not entirely true that the ones with metal chambers *never* wear out, they can rust in time.

Anyone have any experience to what length of time in use this may occur?

Appreciate any feedback from your experience...regards

Not so sure its a cost thing, vs design tradeoffs. Weight and size. It's not something I would worry about, they can go for a long time. If after a couple years you notice the exhaust sounds louder or too loud for your liking - repack it. Not that hard to do as long as the packing is available and cheap (name brand slip on).

Packing is cheap you right, fitment is easy and I'd not say cause they use GF or "wool" they are cheaper, for me they a damn sight lighter and allow the Twins to really open up. Even my wives Full FMF TI system on her CRF150RB has to be repacked but the benefits far out weight the maintenance, to date, not repacked either and when depends how you ride and how the motor is running so, how long is a piece of string.

arrow slip on

I had the arrow full system on my Super Tenere and I see Arrow also has the slip on for the 1190 Adventure.
Has anyone got the Arrow slip on?
I plan on keeping the stock headers and just adding the slip on. Arrow offers it in Aluminum or Titanium (+$200 for Ti), not sure Ti is worth $200 more??
Is weight the only difference/advantage?

Bragging rights too for the titanium. I doubt highly that the titanium weighs that much less compared to the aluminum version given that it's simply a "sleeve". No Wings muffler for you then?

Actually Ti alloy is usually almost 2 times heavier than the Al one.
But Ti is stronger and can withstand phisical and chemical abuses way better.

And cmon.. Isn t it cool to tell your GF that "this tube is made from TITANIUM, baby"

Telling the wife its Ti and not aluminum and cost $200 more doesn't get me very far
The Wings shorty looks amazing but its $300 more then the Arrow aluminum..... The Arrow without the dB killer on my S10 sounded fantastic.

In the end, Im going after the Rottweiler intake, SAS removal, PCV and CAT delete, trying to fund all of this in one shot is becoming challenging :)

I have the shorty Wings and my buddy has the Arrow Ti. I can attest that the Arrow looks to be just as good of quality as the Wings. Either one is top notch quality, just pick your poison. The Arrow is longer than the shorty Wings of course, both sound very similar. The Wings has a couple of inserts that are held in with the typical bolt up through the bottom of the can. The Arrow has an insert that is held in with a snap ring. Both remove a lot of weight and heat from the bike.

I have made my Exhaust in CarbonFibre from UK jcexhuasts.co.uk. I picked up 3 inch BigBore GP CarbonFibre exhaust and suited for KTM 1190 it weights 2 kg Only length 16 inch from in length from end to end. And the Barrel length is 12 inches , sounds Wild ,I couldn't upload pictures as they where large ,
If ordering ask them to use exhaust wrap mat inside to soften , I have plan to do it ,

Hi I have changed 2 exhaust till now in search of losing weight & Sound,
Moved from Akrapovic to Wings, And at present I made one 3 inch BigBore CarbonFibre Exhaust at jcexhaust.co.uk length of the can 16 inch End to End with Barrel length of 12 inch with 2 different baffles , the total weight is 2 kgs ,
Sound is a bit wilder sider ,But could feel there is a extra surge in power by 5-10% ,I couldn't upload the images as they were large to upload ,
Iam trying to pack the exhaust with stainlesssteel exhaust mat to soften it

Yoshimura will produce muffler for 1190 Adv

Hi from Japan

It seems Yoshimura will produce muffler for 1190 adv.
http://blog.yoshimura-jp.com/2014/08...vent-a611.html

As far as I know, Akra and Remus shows performance chart,
and I really want to see chart of Yoshimura's one before I make a decision.

Each rider has own preference, but my order of importance is
performance = light weight > looks > price

They said this will be for sale early Sep 2014

if performance on the 1190 is not enough as is, why not just get the 1290?

No mention of power so why worry about dyno charts. You not going to gain anything with just a can so stick to your 3 points and buy one...I'd add thou, ability to remove the db killer/sound killer like Wings does, only reason I never bought the Akro as both pipes are identical on quality terms IMHO.
