Did I mention that it had been hot during some of my riding?
Yeah. Really hot. I saw 111 on my thermometer.

I shrunk.

Stay tuned,
Chris

Thanks, kitesurfer. I'm having a lot of fun. Well, except for that long post that I just lost. Hate when that happens.

Stay tuned,
Chris

I wanted to head to the Rock Store again to check out the Sunday scene, but I got a late start because I wanted to hang out with my cool niece and her cool fiance. Plus, it was a really, really hot day. Really hot. And I got there about lunchtime. It wasn't dead, but the day had peaked earlier.

I had a Biker Burger.

I shot a few pics.

After lunch, I headed up to the (in)famous curve on The Snake again to check out the action.

Stay tuned,
Chris

At "the curve."

Al watched.

I shot a few pics.

Paul from RockStorePhotos.com was there shooting.

There was also a woman with a video camera there. Paul said that she was shooting for a "20/20" story inspired by the incident in August when the red SV hit the two motorcyclists. Hmm.

I heard the bicyclist tell her that he had never been there before.

I wanted to head to the coast, so I did.

Stay tuned,
Chris

What's the deal with that curve? We have steeper curves here that are much slicker.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. Hell, some of the places I’ve been there weren’t even roads!

Ben, I'm not sure what catches so many people out. It's a deep curve (I'm coming out of it in the pic below), but it doesn't seem all that tough.

I wonder if -- like a lot of the good technical roads back home -- there aren't a lot of people who go to test their skills on the road before their skills are ready.

The Opa and Toyanvil, thanks for watching. :-) John, you and Christina will show up in this thing when I get caught up another week or so. It was great seeing you Tuesday.

Stay tuned,
Chris

Fun stuff

Chris,

Nice job amigo! Glad to see you are out and about and having fun.

I'll save you a spot between a couple of trees. Got your #. I'll update as to our location as soon as we're settled.

Ride safe! See you in a few.

Rob

Hey Chris,
Love the ride report. How are you feeling? Did you play with any of the squirrels while you were camping in California? Just curious.

I'm really bee-hind on this ride report. I have literally thousands of pictures to upload to my SmugMug account, and I'm still a couple of thousand miles from home. If I didn't hit 8k miles on this trip today (Thursday, July whateveritis), I'll roll through it tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the comments.

Stay tuned,
Chris
