The Gascoyne Junction Races 2014

Here is a ride/video report of sorts, I hope its in the right place!

Its set in Western Australia where a group of mates from the BMW Motorcycle Club of WA set out on a 5 day ride from Perth heading North to Gascoyne Junction.

Every year the little outback town of Gascoyne Junction hosts the "Junction Cup" aka " A Must in the Dust". This spectacle draws a crowd of local characters from the surrounding pastoral stations, Aboriginal communities and the coastal communities of Carnarvon and Kalbarri to the West.

The Shire of Upper Gascoyne has population of around 250, it is one of Western Australia’s most remote local governments covering an area of some 46,602 square kilometres. It encompasses a number of communities including the Gascoyne Junction township, Woodgamia and Burringurrah Aboriginal Communities., The main occupations being Pastoral, Mining Exploration and Tourism.

Two groups of riders set off from Perth, one taking the black top coastal route via Carnarvon, the other taking a more direct Northerly route up the midlands road and from Mullewa via the dirt roads throgh the Murchison and Gadscoyne regions to the Junction. This video ride report follows the dirt riders Jamie R1150GS, Guy R100R?, Patrick R1100GS , Phil DR650, Mike TW200 and JonO R80G/S HPM, as they cover the 1070kms North and back (plus a half day diversion to the Kennedy Ranges).

Hope you enjoy it. we did!
