If you're looking for big wimpy GS that's right up my alley, out taking pictures most of the time if that fits you're riding..

Heading out that way tomorrow, any spots to camp just north of Wahoo's in Santa Barbara, going to hit them up for dinner on my way to Laguna.. Late night roll in, sleep and dash bewfore dawn..

Ther are several forest service Campgrounds off of the 154 north of Santa Barbara. If you are coming in from the east (Taft/Maricopa) the Carrizo Plains are a nice place to camp (if you roll in late and leave early...friggin hot otherwise.) The sooner you get to the coast the cooler you will be. There are a couple of state parks along the beach $$ and attitude to boot. The further you get away from SB the calmer things become.

Normally I am heading through there on my way to/from Austin. Some detours to check out the scenery would be a nice diversion.

I hate to say this..............but it's too hot to ride on the east coast. Heat index today about 107. I hear you have a dry heat

Get this, it actually rained for a few minutes

While I have the skills to mount and dismount my tires on the trail I tend
to source out that service when I can, especially for the K60 rear...is there a shop that will mount a tire on just the wheel for a reasonable price?
Do they want you to purchase the tire from them?

Fyi

The independent bike shop of choice in the metro Phoenix area would be ZEN MOTO & Dillon Dugan ( owner) add Mike ( trusted sidekick) and you have the ultimate owner operator shop .

These guys are honest to a fault, above reproach and you'll find them on the trail w/you more likely than not as they are riders.

This is the shop YOU WISH YOU HAD back east. In fact I think you'll find this group of folks here in the az badlands will never leave you behind, will give freely of their time, the shirt off their back if needed, and if you don't like bacon and a good time your in the wrong place.

Now that your armed with the information a word of caution, Don't Be An these guys will slap you down in a NY second.

Good People, Good Rides, Good Times that's what you'll find here in the most diverse ridding area in the USA, We've got it all

OH! and be sure to tell Dillon Belstaff sent ya, that ought to get you an extra ration of crap!!
