The slight acidity of RO water is no problem whatsoever for consumption.

It is not good for many heat exchangers, etc. (e.g. some moto cooling systems).

It pisses away a lot of water (really good ones are 6-7gal for every 1gal of water produced last I checked) to use for a whole house system.

Built a new "Gate House", (Town Of Wickenburg Name), a few years ago. My mother lives there and did not like the hard water here in Wickenburg so... I spent several thousand dollars on a Kinetico system. Very easy to maintain very little salt use, about 1.5 bags a year.
To say I was skeptical would be an understatement. However it works very well, I even wash my cars with that water, no spots at all.

Along comes H2O Concepts...what do we know about it

Fuck this. Run your drinking water through a Brita. The Brita is also great for cheap vodka, no matter what the shitheads on Mythbusters said.

I was on city water for many years in Scottsdale and Phoenix and had no issues with it. Now, my well water out here in Wickenburg......That's another story.

Yeah but if she's the one coming to install this thing I don't really care about your Brita.

Introducing...

Hey Folks, thought I'd jump in and say hello.

I just finished putting a basket-case 09 KLX 250s back together that my friend had cooked the motor on. In the rebuild I bumped it up to a 351cc, but I'm still not entirely sure how truly "ADV worthy" the bike is. I'm probably going to be lurking and watching for any local day rides in the near future.

I'm pretty experienced on street bikes, as well as off-roading with Jeeps and Quads... but I'm new to this dirt bike thing!

Cheers!
Phil

I rode a KLX with the 351 kit and it was pretty punchy. Inmate bhorocks did the upgrade to a 250 and was pretty happy with it. I'm not sure I'd like to do much freeway on one, but plenty power for connecting trails on pavement.

Yeah, i rode it in 250 form on the street and was underwhelmed. When my buddy killed it and gave it to me I knew I would need to punch it out to be motivated to repair. It's certainly nothing like my literbikes, but the hooligan factor is a big plus, and it weighs nothing. So far so good, I just need to get out around here. I'll be watching for upcoming local rides fo' sho'.

Someone needs to blow the dust off this thread and post up some desert riding pics. Snowing hard on the east coast right now.

Winter sucks.

.

I feel your pain. 25F and grey on grey in Toronto today.

This from a couple of weeks ago, through East Texas to the East Valley. Wishing I was there now.
