GPS capacity

I am still learning the curves to GPS units so bear with me please. I am curious to know how much/lenght of a track a unit like the Garmin 660 can handle. I am planning an extensive trip and wondering how to store/manage all the tracks for such a journey? Any advise or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Here, allow me to Google the "Wiki link" for a "Garmin Zumo 660" for you.

I don't know anything about the 660, but I plan lots of long trips.

I have settled on making my tracks about 100-150 miles long. The tracks start and end at gas stops. And 150 miles is about the max between gas stops for many bikes. I end up with two tracks per day.

I used to have the track points about .25 miles apart, but now set them about .1.

I now have a Montana with no limits on number of tracks or tracks size. I used to have a Garmin 60Cx which only allowed for 20 tracks at 500 points each.

For long trips I carry a notebook to update tracks during the trip.

I would never go on a long trip without some sort of computer to re-plan & reload tracks as things develop.
