Congrats, be sure to go through the bike very carefully and inform the insurance of any damages, motor especially, if enough may total the bike and you can buy it back for salvage

That's great news! What's the plan for getting the money for the parts back? Civil suit against the perp pulled over on the bike? I'd think there should be some way to get reimbursement for the parts since you already have a party to go after.

Found in Pueblo...what a surprise

Ya, Insurance already closed me out..... the day before it was found. So they're not going to process the title and we'll see what we come to in regards to owner retention. They stripped off most all the goodies that were bolt on, either usable for other bikes or very identifying. Along with the plate mount and tail light turn signals..... which is why they were pulled over. I don't think they put more than a thousand miles on it, but the tire is now shot.....

Hoping the CSP will follow up and see about stolen parts and other bikes where ever the rider lived.....

How can it be fun if there's not at least an outside chance of dying?

Wow - great news, I hope...

Hard to believe that it was identifiable w/o the goodies on it. Curious to know if they ran the VIN and it was in a DB of stolen vehicles that it matched? Or if they (CSP) some how had other information that led them back to you.

Alert: stolen husky 610, Denver !!

I think it was pulled over for no plate/tail light and the VIN was run, which flagged it as stolen and back to me. Amazed the rider didn't run since I'm given to think it was on the back roads outside of pueblo. Outside of the seat there wasn't much left to ID it. Hoping they follow up and check the riders home for the parts and other bikes. Still waiting to find out the status of the rider.......

They already had "fee's" attached to stolen property? Shite!! Hopefully you can get that reimbursed by the insurance co.

I had a near new XR stolen down in Westcliffe years ago. One of the perp's turned in the other 3-4 thieves. Only one of them was over 18 and ultimately had to pay restitution as part of his probation. My tank graphics were razored off, hand guards jacked and a few scrapes but otherwise ok.

Pretty weird picking it up at the cop shop as it had finger print dust all over, violated in so many ways!! Don't recall paying any impound fee's but it was recovered by the local authorities.

Good fer you!!

I would consult a lawyer because as has been stated you have no other advocates to try 'n get your parts/money back especially now that insurance is done with the claim.

This is where having 55 gal drums of Hydrofluoric Acid lying around and a gang of Nazi assassins on speed dial would help. Or what would Heisenberg do?

Yeah, no.

At lawyer prices it wouldn't be worth it. The ins. co. is currently working with me to get things worked out. It's really not in their best financial interest to be in the used theft recovered bike market when they can recoup some monies immediately by letting me retain it. Otherwise they need to pay someone to transport it, take it to auction and get an unknown return on it.
