Moving on to Lijiang direction. I have little interests in Lijiang city, too touristic and noisy. But I like the surrounding small villages near Lijiang. That is where I am heading.

I found a small hotel owned by a Taiwanese

This is a restaurant

Even the village dog is very friendly

Jade Lake is small but can be a great place for wild camping

A little red dot in the green

The Chinese knew where to find a good place to rest.

The Jade Village

Unspoiled by tourist, the village is great for a walking tour.

The little village offers very little choice when it comes to food. So I go to Suhe town where many tourist go, for dinner.

It was nice to sit by the water to have dinner and listen to the sound of rain fall.

Attractive fruits

Darkness fall and its time to head back to the hotel.

HK bike scene is heading toward two extreme, the exotic bikes and the scooters. If you don't find your gear in HK, there is always the great China

A breath of cool fresh air with the sun shinning on my face, I enjoyed a cup of tea while watching the clouds float by.

I like the look of these roofs.

Mascot on the roof

Modern day paper cutting for good fortune. The old style were hand cut and nowadays, it is a printed sticker.

Scouting around Taiping, I found a good spot for photography

The potato fields & canola fields have just been worked on. There is not much to see but come when flowers are blooming, it will be quite a sight.

Watching a lone farmer carrying a bundle of firewood on his shoulder is healing power to my soul.

Unlike American farms that is mechanized, these land are all worked by hand with the help of a few cows. Note to self, don't waste food.
