I spent almost 6 months doing the SF to TDF tour and stayed home for 2 months before the travel bug started to be unbearable again. What to do? I saw a 3 weeks gap that I can escape but my bike in China has been sitting idol for almost a years now. Getting it back on the road means certain amount of work. Then the 7.2 scale earthquake and the continues downpour in Sichuan made any travel plan unattractive. Just as I was pondering my options, a friend in Yunnan suggested that I can use his bike. How generous. So I hopped on a plane to Kunming and changed to a bus to get to Chuxiong. It was nice to see old friends again.

The red bike in the garage will be my ride for the next 2 weeks.

This old lady now 74 has been mending my torn clothes since 2009 and each time I return to this town, I go visit her.

Foreigners are not allowed to visit. According to CIA info, these are secret missile silos

its a odd thing having dual nationality the UK will accept that I have Hong Kong citizenship, and by having Hong Kong citizenship the Chinese government accept I'm Chinese and don't have any other nationality, legally as of 2011 I have entitlement to be able to do 2 years military service. I'm tempted to do it after university to get a break from 8 years of studying engineering.

I chose a dirt road to cut accross the mountain and facing some road work.

The JH600 is not designed to handle this kind of road condition. It was very hard work trying to get through this section of road works.

Finally got back on good road surface.
