I'd heard about a great road to it, but couldn't find it on my way S to Kristiansand. Just another reason to return...

Best route??

I am heading up that way now.
Can you help me with the best (most scenic) route to take?
I am riding up from Denmark and want to loop up thru Norway and come down thru Finland.
Thanks
Lalo

+1. The road to Lysebotn is a fantastic road in every sense.

If you ride over to Lysebotn and take the Ferry (smart to pre book, only 1 departure/day), you can stop half way through Lysefjorden at Songesand (but you need to tell them or the Ferry won't stop there). The road from Songesand is absolutely brilliant and totally free of traffic.

And if you've got time, walk up to Prekestolen.

Another great road in the area is the North Sea Road, especially the part between Flekkefjord and Egersund. Also a roller coaster road but funny combination of coast and mountain, very, very special. Maybe my all time favourite including all my years riding in the Alps.

Where do you plan to arrive (Kristiansand?) and how many days before crossing into Sweden/Finland?
