191 in AZ might be better in terms a twisty road with less traffic.

As I understand it the locals stay off if it and ride other (better?) Roads in the area. Personally I don't care to go out there for it.

I want to ride 191 again minus the monsoon and sleet! Very scenic and isolated as hell...ashame the northern part near Alpine burned so badly

Certainly longer and more scenic and less patrolled and less ...well, yeah. It's just better.

But when the nephews and I did the Gap with Rod and the Texas Oilman we caught it just right. Midweek and late October.

There is just no pleasing some guys. One road has "jillions" of cops and cars, another road has pouring rain and sleet...

Glad it worked out for you. I think late fall might be time to go.

How 'bout a paved, twisty mountain road where you can grind your pegs and race your bike with impunity for 185 miles? And it's only 750 miles from Austin! And you end up on the beach with a bucket of beers and fresh seafood!!

Cabins are gone except the loft area which has 2 queen and 3 twin beds. This can be bought whole or divided by the bed. Also sleeper sofa in there and full kitchen.

Having ridden both US191 in AZ (at least 3 times now) & The Dragon in TN/NC (actually preferred all the little roads around it & the Blue Ridge Pkwy) I can definately say....

Nah, they're not entertained 'cause they need to pull over and wipe.

But they can't 'cause then they'd be lost. Lord knows nobody can read a map or run their new-fangled-gps-gadgetry without help these days.

That's what happens when ya get snookered by rattle-can-flat-black KLR's.

Edit: I've decided I need to use the word snookered more often.
