I thoroughly enjoyed that one. I got a phone call I had to take right after the race started. I had to watch with the sound down, and I had to bite down on my hand when Marquez did Rossi in the corkscrew. The student truly snatched the pebble from the master's hand on that one.

I loved seeing Nicky and Dovi bumping and banging. I am glad Nicky came out on top. 33 and 34 secs behind the leaders. The Ducati brass should be ashamed for their entire families.

I loved seeing Bautista stalk Rossi, too. Everyone was waiting for the explosion.

Now just waiting for the interviews to hit the video section.

Hayden finished ahead of Dovi once before, in Spain.

Ok, but it was so long ago that I'd forgotten. Thanks for the clarification.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn that CC slotted in behind JLo in order not to take any points from him. Fits in with his ultra polite pass two weeks ago.

Hayden had Dovi beat for the whole race at Assen and then Dovi pulled a bonehead move on the last lap that pushed them both really wide and let Bradley Smith pass both Ducatis in the same corner. (nonexistant eyeroll smiley)

The race had a few moments but other than that it was a procession of old.

Only thing that made it exciting was the different names on the leader board.
Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo (when healthy) on another day could/can do what Marquez just did and not look nearly as "rough"

My opinion of course

To me it's such a great action-filled course that it was great to watch. Watching and waiting for possible pass attempts even when they didn't happen was nail-biting at times.

Watching Marquez power past Rossi up the hill to the corkscrew was evidence of that. Pedrosa over Lorenzo after lackluster practice sessions even more so. But it does seem that Rossi has made a step and Crutchlow will have to double down to have any hope of regaining 4th in the standings.

Indeed, like someone above said, he out Rossi'd Rossi with that move! Kid has no fear and no respect for other legends, because he know he is fast becoming one himself. It was a joy to see him get past Rossi in the corkscrew, Rossi pushed him wide but he was ready (and practiced that move on his Metropolitan scooter, lol!). Loved that Rossi was giving him shit in parc ferme, wonder what he said?! Great laugh and expression by Marquez. Rossi has immense respect for Marc already, and I don't think he will try to get into his head ---- because he knows now it won't do any good. Great race and wonderful to witness on motogp.com live on the big screen.

“I want to speak a little bit about the overtake, especially with Livio Suppo,” said a smiling Rossi.

“So, you and Stoner broke my balls for two or three years about that overtake because I cut the corner. So what do you say today, he has to be disqualified eh?”

Suppo, sitting in the audience, replied: “Thank you for the question and thank you to Marc - because after a few years we pay you back!”

“Ahh okay, okay!” laughed Rossi.

“I think today was not the right day to fight with Marc, because he was too fast for me. But for sure before the end of the season we will have another chance to fight, where I will be faster!”

Sure, he's first yamaha, but Lorenzo is hurt and Crutchlow wouldn't pass Lorenzo like a good team player. And Bautista was too scared to make a pass attempt on Rossi. Yamaha got their butt kicked today.

But good for Bradl. The brake change from Nissan to Brembo really seem to have helped.

I absolutely cannot believe the form of MM. Just...wow.

Also, JL...say what you will about him...but that guy is tough as fucking nails to be out there on a GP bike as cut up and battered as he is. Not really sure what more some of you want out of the guy.

Rossi was under some serious pressure there towards the end and I think a lap or two more would have been his undoing as Bautista was all over his ass. That said, Rossi still is a class act. Pedrobot, take note:

I don't think Rossi tried to push MM wide; I think VR was barely able to slow down and make the corner at all.

Crutchlow wasn't close enough to pass Lorenzo, and Bautista--scared? Really?

Based on warm-up, I thought Lorenzo might finish higher. Maybe he should have done fewer laps like DP--seemed like DP had a good strategy this weekend.
