Can anyone please advise on the differences between 32mm bing carb slides and needles pre 5/83 and after? The OEM fische lists them as different part numbers??

One slide is set up for jet needles held in place with a spring clip and one is set up for jet needles held in place with a C-clip although they made that swap earlier at least on some models.

I presume the earlier ones use the spring clip then. Are the earlier needles still removed with a flat blade screwdriver?.. It appears this one doesn't have a slot and removal is proving difficult.
