No worries, it was just a music video. If you make it to Oaxaca the ride report has a lot of don't miss destinations in the area. And I just scratched the surface.

Everything Tricepilot says is true but for me...Oaxaca is my favorite big city in Mexico and Patzcuaro is my favorite small town in Mexico (for Day of the Dead) and maybe San Cristobal for all other days. All I can say is while you're sitting around in San Diego...look these places up on the net or buy some travel guides and they will confirm what I'm talking about. Patzcuaro is a magical place for Day of the Dead...especial on a bike because you can avoid the 10pm to 4am traffic jam. Yes there will be lots of people but you will be the only gringo (many gringos in Oaxaca). This will also give you the opportunity to ride the Copper Canyon if you leave now. Good luck.

I planned for a break here because I knew I'd learn a lot about what I needed to add, subtract or change from my set up before we head down. I have a lot of notes, plus my GoPro is on the fritz so I need to get that sorted out before I can make any new video. And I need to catch up on editing what I have. And finish moving out. And sell my car. Trust me, the break is a necessity. I want to do Copper Canyon, but it's close enough I'll likely make a separate trip from the states at a later date. I'd rather sacrifice it from this trip than miss something further down that I may never get to on a bike again.

Great RR!

Just to let you know I'm thoroughly enjoying your report. You indeed speak in such a way that even I as a foreigner understand every word, great!

Thanks!

Great stuff Becky, love the hardware. You using the removed screws and plates as spares for this ride?

I broke my leg on the road Uyuni in Bolivia, you'll be going there. Still have the hardware in mine and occasional am reminded of that gnarly muddy mess I slipped in as the humidity rises here in SoCal!

I will definitely check it out! Hopefully it works out that we can stay in Oaxaca for a while. I'm sending out some hosting requests now. :)

Ha, let's hope I don't need any of those kind of spares! I have all my metal in a little jar, I've considered making them into a necklace or something, they are pretty cool looking and very shiny. Plus they cost more than my motorcycle. :P

Andrea's Intro!

I'm super excited to get on the road with this crazy chick, she's a ton of fun. We leave in one week! Ride down the length of Baja, ferry across from La Paz to Topolobampo, pick up a friend in Mexico City and then hit Oaxaca for Day of the Dead!
