Albania 2013

We, 3 BMW GS and one 690 KTM are about to leave on the 25th next week to Albania.
Our idea is to ride gravel-roads mainly and sleep outside.
So if you have any suggestions, i would like to hear/read them.

I did Albania in 2010 but on road.

The south part of road along Adriatic coast was quite spectacular (Vlore to Saranda) unlike northern part which is rather boring. Unfortunately I can't say anyting about upaved roads but I met some guys who were on an offroad car trip in the mountains and according to them if you go east to Macedonia and Kosovo border, in the mountains you will have the best wild offroad you can get in Europe.

People are rather friendly (they love Americans and Brits), there's no problem with provisons and fuel in general (in the south next to Greek borther I saw some petrol stations with only diesel available).

The only bad thing is theirs waste managemnet system, or rather lack of one. The trash is everywhere an often they set it on fire directly in place.

It's kind of obvious but be prepared for really hot weather down there.
