Peleican/Caribou Cases

So I got my 990, now I need to get some bags.Looking for anyone who actually owns and uses the Pelican/Caribou cases. Especially curious on anyone who has the 1440 toploaders. Pretty sure that is the route I am going to go. Any info good or bad you can provide would be greatly appreciated, and if you want to throw a pic with them on your bike that would be great. Thanks for the help.

Also consider the SKB brand cases. I have those, bought a set of them off here for $150. I mounted them to GiVI racks which i bought off ebay for $169 shipped. SKB has a lot of options and the sea horse 720's seem ok too.

I run the Caribou top case. It is mounted to a Black Dog base plate using the standard Caribou quick-release mounting attachments. When riding off-road the people behind me say the box moves a lot. I've never noticed anything. I have had no issues at all and ride some pretty interesting trails. Would definitely do it again.

Do you mean this one...

I forget exactly which case I bought, but I've had for about a year now. It's done alot of on and off road miles in that time (24k as of this weekend) and it's rock solid, waterproof, and lockable. The only thing I might do differently is buy the slightly larger box. I like the looks of this one, but it cannot fit a helmet which would be useful sometimes.

I will add this, I used the caribou rack and mounts. Mount it exactly per the instructions or you risk cracking the metal.

I run a 1500 top case and 1550 panniers. I make all of my own mounts to keep it cheap. Not quite what you are looking for, but I thought I'd mention it:

SKB i series boxes

Sorry for the delay. I was riding and now outta town for work.

They have a lower slide on mount and then bolted at the top to the givi racks.

Also, a cheap top case for beer runs and errands. It bolts to the cr designs rack with some creativity and easily holds a helmet, jacket.

The dry bag is a Seattle sports medium roll top duffel which you can pick up for $47.95 at Sierra Trading Post.
