Aunt Bonnie gives us the GO

Was too sick with a nasty cold to go to the reunion last Saturday to ask Aunt Bonnie about us using their family property for the Turkey Trot event.

Just got off the phone with her and she said "Of course yawwl can use that place!"

Location is Garner Landing Road about 3/4 of a mile south of hwy 90.

So

If Vic decides we'll have the event there,,,,,then we'll have it there.

She also told me theres a new owner of the drag strip across the street and he's recently bought a section of her property to build a campground or something.

Thanks to Aunt Bonnie

OK it's settled then. Turkey Trot V will be held near Holt. Same location as the infamous Sweat Fest.

Second Weekend in November. Get out those hammers and chisels and mark it in stone...

We can have a Robbie Robinson Ride - I will be happy to lead a ride - we can have a Beast Ride and we are close enough to have an "Eglin see the military shit" Ride.

Thanks Madhouse for offering the land etc.

Gonna need to bush hog the area that we use.

Anybody else gotta tractor and bushhog of that can geterdone?
I live about 55 miles away and it's a pretty big ordeal for me.

I've done it the past several go arounds and now that our group has grown to a sizeable crowd, there's probably another fella that's chomping at the bit to step up and take care of this task.

Tony, I don't have the means to haul my tractor. Do you think a riding mower will get the job done(provided it's not a Cub Cadet)?

Probably will.

Pete and I cut it with riding mowers the first year and the second and third year I expanded the area with my tractor/bush hog.

I wouldn't mind doing it again but the tires on my trailer are looking rotten and don't want to spend the money for tires just to cut a acre of grass.

We got over two months so maybe something can happen here.
Also gonna need a portapotty.
Somehow things happen with our group.

The answer is obvious:

LAWM MOWER RACES

Event date TBD
Several Classes depending on displacement (displacement defined as how much beer you can displace while cutting).

Actually this could be fun. I got a little piddly ass 30 incher but she flies....

Now that I think about it the Gov always cut the grass for me at Spec....
