How do I shorten rear indicators?

Hi, does anyone know how you can shorten the rear turn signal stalks on a gs and keep th same lamps?What is involved,

the front stalks are maybe an inch shorter on my r1100gs.


I think they would mount in the rear.

On my '04, I just took them apart and cut the inner pipe to length.

Those Suzukis were amazingly fast..the 850's were popular where I grew up..when I saw that pic, I was transported back to high school..and Kerker exhausts..

I hate the dollar sign thing too..

Honestly, it's a while ago so I don't remember exactly. I do know it wasn't anything complicated once it was apart. Just look it over good before you cut and it'll be fine.

I had one apart the other night, the metal tube ( blinker housing end) seemed to be pretty solidly fixed into the rubber.

the threaded insert on the other end appeared to be the same way, I cut down the metal tube to temporarily mount an LED blinker while i repaired a housing.

Ill tear one apart here tonight and take some photos.
