You have a dirt bike, you have a WR for trips, so if this one is for giggles and to keep you amused, how about trying for something the manufacturers up until now haven't built.........a small capacity twin cylinder ADV bike?

I like the 30km/L I get from my scoot, and I like the protection from the elements, but long-travel suspension would be nice. If someone brought out a Kaboom Adventure look-alike with 250-350cc, 8" travel and a 300km range I would buy ten of the things.

Or you could show me how to build one maybe?

Awesome idea! I haven't ridden the 300, but I really love the Ninja 250 for some reason. Super light bike meets fun motor is always a good combo.

Good luck - looks like you're def on the right track!

So, did you sneak a tape measure around it yet? Roomy engine cradle?

I did quickly. It doesn't look roomy enough. I have to make room in my work shop so I can get it in and strip some things off to get a better look. Definitely going to need to create a new frame section from the steering neck to the foot pegs. I got some great ideas from this guys build thread...

I actually have to give credit to Skippii for that bike (Because I sure don't want it!)

They are CR-HI for sure

Credit or blame?

Do you think the 300 engine will sit low enough to use a DRZ based fuel tank?

Well, one of the reasons for choosing the DRZ platform was because of available tanks. It looks like the 300 engine may sit about 1.5-2 inches taller. I'm more worried about the width of the head. But... I have learned of a local guy who can repair plastic gas tanks. I'm wondering if he can modify one. Gotta check into that.

That motorcycle is very confusing. I will stick by the tried and true saying,"To each, his own."
