Scam Alert Croatia

I was traveling to Bosnia and leaving Croatia when the Croatian border police stopped me leaving the country and he wanted to see my motorcycle documents. My insurance was bought before Croatia had joined the EU, but the insurance was good for all EU countries. When looking at my documents it looked like the insurance was not good but it was and if you went to the insurance website you would see it was ok.

I did not know this at the time and I was warned I will need new insurance or pay a no insurance fee. These nice police said they would call my insurance company for me and get additional coverage.

Thinking lucky me the insurance man was called and he showed up and at for 20 euro to add Croatia. Later on talking to another traveler they told me the insurance isn't the same company and my insurance was in fact good for all EU countries.

This is my 20 euro lesson.

Seems like a lot of trouble for someone to get 20 euros.
I got tired of being here, so now I'm there
