10000km now. Original spring.
Ha havnt got a dog and don't think it's operator error. Stand goes down stand goes up. Spring stretches and either false off when I put the stand down or in the last case one of the springs actually broke.

Am I doing it wrong?

Question KTM 1190 Adventure Skid Plate Problem

I recently purchased an 1190 Adventure R and opted for the accessory package marketed thru the dealer. I have found two problems with the items. First, the right rear hanger bolt would not work as provided because the bike came from the factory without a bolt mounting the engine to the frame in this area. I purchased a 10mm tap and created the appropriate threaded hole for mounting. Anyone with a new 1190 should inspect this frame -engine mount point.

Secondly, I have installed the factory fog lights and made all the appropriate connections only to find the Accessory 2 plug to not be hot with the ignition on and engine running. I was wondering where the 1 amp fuse might be for checking purposes.

The bikes (listed below) sat out for 3 hours in 15F with a chill of Freezing ass cold. So before I put them up after plowing and sweeping I thought I would let each of them run for 15 minutes or so.

The KTM would not fire as the engine would not spin fast enough. Smelled of gas too. I on off'd it couple of times and no change. I put in the garage with a heat blower on the crank case for 15 minutes and it started. The KTM does not like cold temps like this or maybe the oil in it from the factory is thicker. After break in i do plan on going pure syn. The starter just drags when cold but I thought it spun it enough to kick off but it didn't until I put some heat to it.

My Buell Uly would not even turn over......too cold. The Yamaha TW200's cranked slow but no fire.

The wife's Triumph Tiger 800 spun right up and fired easily. It seems her starter on her bike is much lower geared and spins the motor without any issue and kicked right off........of now she is talking trash.....painful
Mine has failed to start on 2 occasions. Both times temps below 5 degrees C. Battery was simply not strong enough. First time I needed help as I was stranded on my weekend home in the mountains Second time was in my garage yesterday. Put the battery on a charge for 20 minutes and it started.

This could prove very problematic touring the Alps or similar even in summertime. I have not asked KTM for a solution yet.

It really is an issue.
Mine only just started yesterday at 6C.
I almost got stranded at work, again.

Both Alp and Arctic circle touring, even in the summertime might become problematic.
In my case commuting to work and clients will prove difficult.
Luckily we've been having a very warm winter so far...

I am tempted to simply buy an Anti Gravity Micro Start XP-3. Small enough to carry even on my 500.

Does the non-starting-low batterie issue only occures on the bikes fitted with the alarm? Are is it a problem on all bikes?

Doubt it.... Think the assisted anti-hop clutch will make it hard... I know Schussboelie tried it, but it didn't work...
