abs / msc FAULT

This happened this morning. I started the bike to let it warm up before leaving for work. Went inside, came back out and the left screen was flashing with the fault. I will see if it comes back when I go to ride home this afternoon.

I also noticed my brake fluid reservoir leaks fluid

I can add these two problems to the long list of problems I have had since getting the bike 10 months ago.
-Horn not working
-Side stand spring broken
-MTC & ABS Failure
-Front & Rear wheels loosing pressure
-Leaking fork seal RIGHT
-Knock in front suspension
-Brake fluid reservoir Leaking
-Moisture inside indicators
-Engine shutting off when clutch engaged when decelerating
-Brake light flashes when riding over bumps in the road

Time to surface again and proclaim what a piece of crap big-bore KTM's are.
I sure got suckered on my purchase of a '12r and sorry (but happy in a sick way) that the "new" bike is no better. When will people learn KTM does not have the ability to develop and properly manufacture a "street bike".

Dude, the 990 SMT is an AWESOME street bike!!
1190 Adventure has it's issues but after 14000km I still think it is a great bike!

No problems with my 1190 Adv street bike. It is in the shop all the time, (my garage) and my mechanic rides it often (ME).

Take off the lid of the brake fluid reservoir...you'll see the rubber will be out of it's normal shape. pop it back in shape and no more leaking.

...is another 2014 "street bike" that can compete with this???

I'll be keeping my 1190R just like I kept my SE… can't pry either one from my hands.

I was just going to say the same thing, looking at the picture and seeing the dark area in the reservoir. It happened in my Multistrada, very similar.

My horns stopped working today. I can see the cable has snapped where its crimped on to the lug that connects to the horn

Cry need help!

Hello everyone!

Was a quite hot day today. Was riding for about 30 mins in a heavy traffic on first - second gear with up to 6000 RPMS. The air temp was 33 C.
Then I notice that the oil temp rises to 99 C. After 8 mins it was still 99 C and I get an Error notice like "Radiator fan failure" and "General failure".
Stopped at the gas station for 10 mins, the oil temp dropped to 85 and then made it home in another half hour in a less dense traffic with the oil temp rising up to 96 C. The errors disappeared. The fan spins

Any Ideas? Stock pipe, 2013 1190 Adv.

Hello. After updating the VDO I've got fuel range problem. When fuel tank is full it doesn't show at all. At the half of the tank it shows about 430 km range. And then going down by 50-60 and in the end it shows 80km. Anyone having same trouble? Solutions?

99C oil temp is not high. "the fan spins" meaning you spun it by hand, or does it work through the electric motor? You can feel air blowing back behind it while its running.

It's likely to be an intermittent connector or broken wiring to one or both of the radiator fans. I think there is a connector for the fans that is quite exposed at the front of the 'bike, just above the radiator. My guess is that dirt / vibration/ water has damaged the contacts, and that you should replace both parts of the connector, soldering the new pins in place instead of crimping them, and fitting heat shrink tubing over the whole thing and using a hair dryer to shrink the tubing and prevent water ingress.
