Camping in September is sounding good. I went out to the Fort Valley area of the G.W.N.F. today, and it was a major disappointment... We clocked about 250 miles on the trip today, only 8 off the pavement on some light fire-roads, nothing exciting. Almost all of the intersecting trails of the main trails/roads were blocked off by a gate, due to some chemicals recently being sprayed of some sort. I will have a map of todays ride for you all shortly. From now on I'll skip Fort Valley all together, and just hit up the trails off of Route 33. Don't get me wrong, it was a very nice ride...Especially for bigger Adventure Touring bikes not looking for anything technical and nice peaceful ride.

Managed to get this nice shot on the short trail we were on... This was off of Crisman Hollow Road, outside of Luray.

This was taken in Luray.
I wanna ride!

Fri-Sun in September works for me.. Just not the last weekend in September-October. I'll probably have to work that weekend.

I will be checking out some new area for me in the GWNF South of I-64 this weekend. Going to be riding with a few other ADV'ers on little bikes. (WR250, XT225) Going to be a challenge to get my camping stuff slimmed down.

Big levels? Near Waynesboro I heard is some nice riding. I cant wait to see the videos and pics, and possibly new routes? Are you just taking your bike all the way out there? Have fun!

Here is the mapping of yesterdays ride to the Fort Valley area. It's still a work in progress. Lots of road/trail closures in the North District.

Oh.. Man... What a ride.

We did that road you told me about along with some others south of there. We had a good time and had lots of adventure. Lots of Rocks, mud holes, hill climbs, horses and snakes. I'll have the video highlights up sometime soon. Whew. I am beat. A long three day weekend of riding and camping.

Aaah! I didn't see this until now!

If you have the scoop on some dirt off of US-1 I want to know!

I will say I finally got down toward Lake Abel, but most of the routes were fenced off as private land. That seems to keep happening :-(

Got room for one more?

Just saw this thread and the videos, looks like you guys are having a grand time in the woods. I may be a couple of hours away but any dirt road is always worth it.

Of course! Invites are never closed off... I will be going on a trip to Ohio this Thursday-Tuesday, I'm game after that. The trails aren't long, maybe a good 2-3 miles total. But lots of fun. We spent a good 2 hours here messing around. Just let me know when you're free.
