I was after a TK pipe for the TTR, spoke to Terry Kelly & he was no longer making pipes (working in a mine in WA) He may start up again but had no pipes to suit the TTR

Ended up with the Staintune, both were rated at 94db but the TK was alloy I think & the Staintune is Stainless.

nothing turns like an xr 250
the trade off is straight line stability

Did they have the electric leg?

There's your answer.

The lack of electric start was the reason I bought the DRZ400 & not the XR400..... I loved the Honda to ride, but my knee doesn't agree with kick starters on a regular basis any more.

When up the Flinders in April my wife must have taking notice of me starting the XR400 & said why don't you sell the XR & XT then buy a new bike with electric start !!!! That was Monday & by Friday Iwas the owner of a brand new TTR

Fitted the B&B bashplace, handguards & enduro mirrors

Heavy throttle??

Owners of these mighty beasts;)

Would you say your TTR Has a heavy throttle? After riding my bikes for a while, then getting back on the GF's TTR, I am surprised how heavy the throttle is. Might need new cables and a clean and lube..

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

No not heavy at all & only complaint is the long travel throttle & the amount I have to use it (XR400 had a very quick action & plenty of power)

Can't remember the name but got them from the local bike shop, $25 each but they work good, can see out & there out of the way. Had them on my last 2 XR's & only ever broken one.

They call then "Enduro mirrors"

Cheers Terry
