I have a TTR 250 which starts easily with the electric starter but is extremely difficult to start with the kick starter. Do any of you blokes have any tips on kick starting these things

Mine is impossible to start with the bloody kick start, But always starts a treat with the electric leg or a push and jump in 2nd gear if the Battery is flat... dunno why
Yeah same here. I can start mine off the kicker, but jeez it takes some effort sometimes. Dunno why...

Just tried kick starting mine for the first time...
2nd kick no probs.

turned it of and tried again, spent the next ten minutes kicking, gave up and used the starter.

Try again later

Kick, kick, kick

I had a purple TTR but always wanted the Blue one with a kick start as I wanted the back up after being caught in mud trying to push start after stalling a hot motor in a gully and dead battery.

Doesn't make any difference - I feel like if it happens again with my blue bike - I will still be in the same bother.

Complex

I thought I was the only one who had trouble kicking the TTR - I feel much better now. No more therapy!

So I thought I'd try this kick start caper, since it seems to be an issue. Bike has not been started since I got it a month ago. So, fuel on,full choke, ignition and kill to start, gentle kick over to TDC, good kick, nogo, repeat, no go,third kick it burst into life, so looks like mine hasnt got an issue
Time to start getting it ready for rego,no working lights on it, couple of hours tracing wires and finding where it had all been taped back into the loom and most works

Why would you do this?

Speedo doent work, something in the drive unit

And just for something completely different.....
