Magellan 700 Roadmate users
My father-in-law is trying to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.54. We downloaded the executable file and connected it to the USB port but it keeps saying no Road Mate found. I can go to the properties of the Roadmate on the computer and it says it is functioning normally. What's going on?

Magellan 700 update
Sorry to ask the painfully obvious but. . . do you have the unit powered up with a 12v adapter? If so can you see it as a hard drive? That will confirm that it is ready to update. I did the upgrade on mine and it worked well. Hope that helps.

Everything was plugged in correctly. It popped up as a new device. It listed it as three items: roadmate, a drive, and something else. Everything looked OK until we ran the executable file and it said no Roadmate found. At first we thought we had done something in the wrong order, but we tried it on three different computers with the same result. He is going to call them on Monday. If all else fails, the thing is still under warranty.
