Ran on one cylinder for a while then FI light on

During my normal commute today my 2008 990 ADV started to run on one cylinder and then the FI light stayed on. Went back to 2 cylinders and then the FI light started blinking in sets of 9.

What do you guys think?

Found this handy chart of FI error codes. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...55&postcount=8

Would appear from the 9 blnks that is connected to the air pressure sensor in the rear manifold.

Guess I better call my local KTM dealer.

Mine had exactly the same fault about 2 weeks ago while on vacation. I swapped the MAP sensors round from front to back.

This can be done without taking tanks and airbox off, just undo top and rear tank screws and pull the tank off the top lug.

The rear cylinder has the sensor on the left, front is on the right.

There is also an identical sensor behind the headlight.

Swapping the sensor made a different fault sequence appear, so I knew then it was the sensor.

So I called in a KTM dealer and they took one off a used bike so I could carry on with my journey.

Big thanks to

So today it starts and runs fine for 5 minutes, then the FI light comes on (continuously, not blinking) and a minute later runs intermittently on one.

It will idle on two without problem but under load is the issue.

Check the wires to the rear sensor. They may just be pinched under the gas tank, or not fully pushed in, or one of the connectors may have pushed out of the connector block.

Did you fit a new sensor?

Or Swap one from the front?
