So Troy: Are you ready for this? Where is your steed? Where is the prep thread? The photo's and other goodies?

Come on man! Pull your finger out.

+1 on any bike prep threads! Just started my 5 weeks at work in the Philippines and I need as many rally threads as possible to keep me sane.

There hasn't been a KTM690 in the safari since 2011(?)... any reasons behind this?

Maybe Pete640 would jump in next year to change the statistics?

I have to admit... I was a bit confused by your "you're in" comments earlier in the thread Neil... I thought you were referring to my mod status and role of dragging this thread along by the bootstraps (as the ex-officio safari patron at ADVRider)...?

THEN earlier this morning while casting an eye over the safari MOTO competitor stat list... THE PENNY DROPPED!

Ummm... do you seem to have me confused with Troy O'Conner as one and the same person?

We aren't.

Troy (who I have met before) has a number of Safari and Condo 750 rally starts undr his belt down in Oz since about 2007. He is a regular top 20 to position 10 runner in the Australian rallies and even has (one I think?) a Dakar ride to his name. He has ridden on the privateer and dealer backed Yamaha and KTM squads on the Safari in the past, and is a solid top dozen candidate for this year I would think... but I am not he. (I would love to take up the ride if he wanted to exchange surnames however).

So the sum total of my build and preparation thread involves doing an airfilter change on mx SXF 505 this evening in readiness for saturdays training session at the local MX track.

Oh No, not again!

I really should pay more attention.

That sidecar looks cool.

Are they rolling? Is it already tomorrow in the opposite land?
