Yes, I knew all these and now I have many solıd conformations. Thanks for all messages.

Now I need to reach KTM Austria somehow. Seems like it is even more difficult than doing the valve job with fuel tanks in place!

Valves

I removed everything except the wheels! They are full of shit! They stood around and agreed that it ran great and sounded fine.

Ripped off!

Ask for your money back. We had a BMW dealer here that used to do the same thing. They called it the 'Sunshine Tune-Up'. They would wash your bike, change the oil, let it dry in the sun, then charge you for a full service.

Yes, I've got my money back. Straight from the mechanic! He seemed like he wanted to close the chapter.

I haven't seen the shop director yet. We will talk face to face in my next visit to Sofia...

The fact that you got your money back is a proof that they lied and don't have a clue...
If i were You, i would still contact KTM headquarters and let them know what happened.
I don't want to imagine how many guys like you had been victims of their lies and stupidity.

I agree with Head2Wind, they have to remove the plugs to be able to turn over the beast by hand. Having just done it no way they didn't remove the fuel tanks. I took everything off, not just for the ease of access but because you have to unbolt things from the sides. I am glad you received your money back.

What's sad is all the folks that have taken bikes to these twats thinking they were taking care of the machine.

I've done A LOT of valve adjust/checks. Many times it was the third check at 15,000 miles with no evidence that any prior shop had touched it.

Many times after I was done, it was the first time the bike ran right.

Dead right and that right there is their admission of guilt, there is no way they would refund it if hand on heart they did the and could stand by it or prove it.
