Black River Stages 2013

Some one on another thread believes it may be superstitious to start a race thread, it may lead to some minor injuries. Of course this is the same person who believes a DRz (which is really a KLX) could possibly be the heaviest, slowest, and most non-competitive bike for these kinds of events. So, who am I to argue with him. Anyway, I thought I'd open a BRS thread. Post up, who's coming, who's riding what, how many people are trying to sell their KTMs for DRZs.

I won't be riding, for obvious reasons, but I will be there. I was looking to gauge interest in proving a support vehicle for the bikes. I have no problem getting your fuel, tools, spares, etc to the service areas. If there is enough interest there I'll do that vice be a race volunteer.

My recent experience proved my support buddy was invaluable. If he wasn't there, my bike might still be on stage.

Phew, thanks for starting this one Brian!

I like the idea if the support vehicle driver, seems like nothing is posted logistically yet so maybe someone else can chime in on the service park and housing situation from previous events.

Oh just man up. You do this one and you will have completed the whole series. Plus I promise it won't be pouring with rain the whole time.....

I bought some VisionX Rounds to replace my buell headlights. The DRZ will look like the sun riding down the road.

If you want to break the trip up. You are welcome to stay at my house, it's sorta on the way. Just don't bring that minivan or I'll never hear the end of it from my wife!

I love the way you think! No good destination can reach greatness without a great food! What is this trashcan chicken you speak of?

Being that the weather will be a bit cooler at this event, what are you guys running for jackets that fit over body armor? I have a Fly Patrol combo but it's too snug when over my armor.

Sorry to say that I won't make BRS again this year due to a work conflict. Next year for sure!

I'll be doing this instead since it won't require a 5-day weekend. Should feel just as dangerous as rally.

No rain? Seriously? I'm there! You guys are killing me... now that manhood is on the line i'm counting up my remaining vaca days and wondering if i can borrow some from next year.

Poon - wait till you see the honda super mini (van) with the new rally race vinyl wrap i'm planning! Everyone will want one!

Squadra - you're gonna love the lights. I need to post up my set up - my light covers came in and i think it is going to work even better. Now i just need to work out the spray wash system i've been mentally designing to solve the "caked with 5 lbs of WV mud so no light comes out" problem...

I think the answer is to capture the mud that gets flung forward and up by the tire at high speeds....
