NVCrash -- Thanks for the input on the snow pack...makes me breath a bit easier.

Wachs -- My group is staging out of Battle Mountain on the 29th, doing a southern loop, then turning north up to Denio/Sheldon/Black Rock. We will be staying at the Denio Junction motel on Wed/Thur, June 4th and 5th. Not sure if you will still be around the area, but will keep our eye out. And thanks for the email tips on routing up out of the Virgin Valley area!

Mark.

hey don't crucify me if I am doing this wrong...noobee. My wife and I are heading to Winnemucca NV in middle October to visit our daughter and thought we would take the opportunity to do some riding out west on our F 800 GS and F 650 GS. I am looking for suggestions on a 4/5 day loop that might include Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and ??? maybe Peavine Mtn. We do some gravel and dirt here out east (GA) on FS service roads... Nothing too crazy for a a 53 yr old guy and his bride! Is Yosemite and Tahoe enough for a 4 day loop? I don't need to wear the seat out of our pants...just a nice ride (200 miles or so per day) with awesome scenery and we don't mind getting off the tarmac a bit.

I have heard weather could be an issue at higher elevations, and that we may have to adjust plans and skip the Sierras. playing that by ear I guess

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions for a route... or directions on where to go to find help?

Greg

Hello Greg,

You might want to start a thread in the West Regional Forum asking your question. I don't know much about the area you are interested in visiting.

IF you are interested in doing some offroad from Winnemucca, you should go to the first page of this Ride Report and see if it provides some inspiration. All of my rides in NV so far have been somewhat close to Winnemucca, NV. There are many other posts in the Ride Report section to get your juices flowing.

Have fun!
