Dude. Your court date is tomorrow and you are just posting this now? Ask the judge to take the class I sent you but be prepared for a reduced fine since you already plead guilty (which will not help your insurance rates). You needed to take the course before your appearance date.

With all respect, your approach on this was flawed. It is difficult to negotiate when you surrender your only leverage in advance. Unless you intend to mail a check with your ticket, ALWAYS plead NOT GUILTY. There is no benefit to pleading guilty or no contest which is the same as guilty. It also doesn't help to blow things off until the last minute.

The citing officer may be there anyway, so look for her and talk to her before the docket is called. Be humble and tell her you are a dumbass (whether true or not) and she may still be able help you take the class.

I need to learn these kind of stuff, that's why I came here. Just that I was so pissed for the first week that I didn't even look at the tix. And a week later is the date.

I asked some other biker about it, but he was no help.

Wait. One more time. Did you enter a plea at all to the ticket? If not all you have to do is plea NOT GUILTY. You will then get a trial date. Then enroll and take the class. Show up on the trial date with your class certificate.

The date on the citation is the date in which you have to enter your plea. You either sign the ticket and mail it back or you show up by the date shown. Read the back of the ticket carefully. It give you options. If you have done nothing you still can please not guilty and still do what I suggested. Almost nobody shows up in person to please but I guess that's you.

Never been pulled over since I began riding 3 years ago.

Got so many tickets in my VW Golf and other cars plenty of times. Speeding, no seatbelts, no insurance. Got tons point I was getting pulled over and harassed for nothing, being accused of drinking multiple times then blowing 0.00 BAC and then told to "have a good night"

I hate cops. I won't give them a reason to pull me over on a bike. If they try, I probably won't stop and will turn into the woods to ditch them.

Wow! that is such a stellar idea............NOT!!!

This just happened again not far from here. Guy on a Ducati pulls a bone head move and the cops attempt to stop him. He bolts and the cops decide he isn't worth the risk. Of course the asshat doesn't know they stopped pursuit so he is hauling ass. The next call the cops get is from a resident not far from where they attempted the stop. Seems there is a dead guy and a Ducati wrapped around a tree in their yard. Sad and Stupid.

Hurtin em. Stupid move for sure. I was less than half serious about running from them. Too lazy. But I try to stay under the radar and not act like a donkey and even give em a reason to look at me.

So, went to court today. Talked with the clerck (which was very nice with me. I have that effect on women, except the dykes. that's why I wasn't happy when I got pulled over by one ). They can do whatever they want in THEIR lifes, as long as they leave me alone...

Anyhow, I pleaded not quilty, so I can have the officer meet me in court. So I can ask her the "permission" to take the class. I hope she turns out to be nice, cause if I think about it, she was actually not bad with me on the initial encounter. She could of been a reall pain and screw me over hard

So, thanks Caslaw for the advice, I think I'm on the right path now. I owe u a drink , especially if I get clean out of it

On a side note, this was a good excuse for a ride to town. I usually avoid downton Portland, cause I hate hippies, and the fact that it's a big no no to be driving a car through their utopia society. Everytime I go there and try to park my pickup or my minivan I get my fuse lit. But this time was a great time. Pulled right upfront, birds where singing in the park, the hippies where setting up some occupy somethin, but it didn't bothered me (granted,l only had 2 shots of esspreso in the morning, so I was not OD'ed . Came out of the courthouse to find some hippies pulled right in front with their old SUV. 2 of them where sitting on the roof of the car, which already had some huge bean bag like bags on top. I thought that was funny. Oh yeah, their vehicle was parked crooked, like in protest or just being dumbasses: was taking one of the traffic lanes, so the cops where on the scene! I smiled and jumped on my clydesdale.

I'm gunna have myself a beer now, if you excuse me.

I recommend the OP immediately move from Portland to Dry Shitties. The social climate here will be in better alignment.

The only good thing about being downtown Portland is eating at one of the food carts. Bought a burrito at one of those places and it was one of the best I've ever eaten. I was full for two days!

You oughta hear the UPS and FedEx drivers "complain" about the "scenery" on a Summer day in Downtown Hood River.

If you don't think 50+ YO ladies can be HOT,
then y'all need to ride downtown HR on a no-wind sunny Summer day.
Yull see.......

I leave in the burbs.. I go to Portlandia once in a blue moon. Everytime I feel like I'm about to stab a hobo that's commimg to me for some change to get his fix. Man, I grew up in a communist country! we tried socialism: IT DOESN'T WORK! And this is not just a slogan, I really brlieve it. Problem is people realize VERY QUICK, that there's no reason to work hard and be honest: everyone is equal. So just be lazzy ( hippie, bum) and u still get same as somebody else that is worki g his ass off!
And those of u guys out there that feel my pain and frustration I'm sure u can chime in....

Don't get me wrong, Portland can, and IS a beautiful city! But is being run by some lazy and Entitlement mentality people! JUST like in communism. WHENEVeR I can afford, I will get my 5 acres, don't worry! Ya'll can lick ur behinds then, down vaseline alley!
