Yes, I went with rotella t6 at my first oil change. I run that stuff in all my other bikes without any issues but I'm thinking it may be too thin for the v-twin.

Most of my friends have sportbikes and we ride twisties so I have to keep the rpm up. 5-8k rpm range most of the time. Saying that I expect some oil usage. My 990 doesn't run any hotter than sportbikes.

Yes I did read the Owners Manual . Also into the Service Manual often looking around .

I was trying to get a GOOD cold base line for future use and for a fill mark after oil change .

I have since givin up on that .
