unless you are looking to maintain triple digit pseeds all day long, the limiting factor will be the rider, or, at most, the rider/bike interface (seat,pegs/bars)

My Seat Concepts upgrade add a couple - three hunder miles to my range . . .

My longest KLR day was 20 hours and 860 miles. Starting near Red River Idaho, over the Magruder Corrider (including 90 or so miles of dirt and gravel) to Darby MT then up to hwy 12, over Lolo Pass and then west to Scholls OR.

I rode the DR about 1100 miles the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, from Spacecoast FL to out past Tyler TX. I was going to continue on to Broomfield CO that following Tuesday, but mom threatened to shoot out my tires. After I explained to her that it wasn't a problem, because I brought spare tires and tubes (), she then bought me a plane ticket to Denver before I woke up the next morning. My '03 DR is now stored in her barn.

The snowboarding in Summit County was pretty good though, and I got to visit an old friend for their 40th while making some new friends.

I'm picking up a new, 2nd DR tomorrow or next Saturday though. Mom's pretty good at the stationary and pop-up pistol ranges, but I'm betting that she doesn't have enough experience with the long guns to hit a 75MPH+ target on I-20 from her porch over 2 miles and a hilltop away.

Its known that left to your own devices KLR riders will spend endless hours debating used oil choices, fuse blocks from K-Mart,doo hickey maintenance.

Just keeping an eye on things.

So 2 DR's.........one set up for street, one more for dirt?

Have you not perused the local Kawasaki emporium? Some big fairings on the new KLR's.

Only a DR aficionado would insinuate himself into a thread entitled:
Quote:
KLR: how many miles a day can YOU do?

It is written in some Book: "The DR partisans, we shall always have among us."
