Continuance of tech day - virtual anyway....

Somewhere between the house and FS77 my left jug spit it's plug.

I've got the part number, it and a ring are headed my way with some more candy.

But I'm uninformed - why is there a hole?

Pulse air injection would have been installed post 1980. It was an exhaust emissions systems.

That's helpful - thanks! Tells me piece # 22 probably isn't what I want.

So - is askoak still the best source or are the alternatives?

There used to be a metal tube that ran from there to the other plugged up hole in the side of the airbox below the carb air tube. Emissions control. I believe the top ones take a rubber timing hole plug.

You do NOT want the original piece, it's a nipple for the hose. I have some of those around, let me look at the thread.

Edit: M16x1.5

Drain pan plug from auto parts store. if the threads are hosed, get a self tapping repair plug for that size. Red locktight (stud locker) in any event.

Called Max - they've got plugs and will be shipping them. Refund for piece 22. Perfect.

Thanks again

As I recall, a drain plug from an OilHead w/crush washer and a little Red Locktite is what you need.
