Late entry?

So, plans changed and it looks like I can make it this year (always wanted to do this ride!). I know it's late entry and it looks like both the quality inn and ramada are sold out in Barstow and the Orleans is sold out in LV.

Maybe I can find a double and crash on the floor with a sleeping bag (rollaway if available). Should I post that on the district 37 forum?

Then I'd need to find someone who wants to take the adventure bike route. I'd be coming on my KLR650 and am not the fastest. Just got a new chain and sprockets + oil change done this weekend. Need to get a fresh set of knobbies and make sure all my spares are in order.

I'll check out the "looking for a riding partner" thread but if anyone has somewhere helpful to point me, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

just a heads up......

there is no adventure route.

there is the regular route and a few hard options for the brave.

they will have adventure options on the roll chart which means they will route you to the highway.

I rode my KLR on the regular route as well as all the hard routes the first few years I rode LAB2V, you'll be fine on this ride.

there will be a lot of sand. it's the desert.

post up on District 37 about the rooms and riding partners. you should have no problem finding someone.

Couple of pre-run pic teasers for you all ....

looking down into the outskirts of Barstow from the ridgeline

Also, don't forget to carry plenty of water and some survival food, the desert will make you it's bitch in a hurry

I have been told to wait until the event to find a riding partner, but I am a little uneasy about that. Riding my F800GS, looking to join a group of similar (650 or larger) bikes. I don't want to try to keep up with 250s and 450s!
