Dual sport riding around Maupin Oregon?

Hey guys. I'm heading over to Maupin Oregon tomorrow with a small group of riders for the weekend. I'm sure there must be some terrific trails to ride over there. Please let me know where to start:)

Nothing really NEAR Maupin.....
It's all ranchland and outta the tree zone.

To it's West is McCubbins Gulch OHV if you're looking for "trails". You gotta go West on Hwy 216 through the Indian Reservation about 25-30 miles to get to it in the Mt Hood NF. Do NOT ride off-highway in the Re. DAMHIK

For good DS Roads, you gotta get near McCubbins, or West of Tygh Valley & Wamic,........or East of Madras & South of Antelope near Aswood, etc. Good ride heading North od Maupin along the Deschutes, paved curvy fun for 9-ish miles turns to decent gravel for another 17 before it ends. Great views along the water, but no trails, and no side roads.

Thanks for info. I'll stay away from the Reservation property. Mt. Hood area sounds like fun. Have a good weekend.

Head towards Wamic and pick up the Barlow Road route. It will take you all the way to Mt. Hood, parallels the White River.
