Cylinder #

Hi guys!!

Coming Home from work yesterday, my (2010) 990 started to have a rough idle and gave me a code 37 with the FI light... That's Ignition Coil Cylinder One - Malfunction in the circuit.

Which one is cylinder #1??

As any of you experienced that before?? (I'd imagine so...!!)

Thanks!!

Yeah, weather is getting better and better. Nice 25ēC this week, all my riding buddies on a 4 day offroad trip ... and I'm stuck at home with 9 stitches on a finger after a wheel-finger interface

Can't throw any light on the FI/codes side of things but my 950 Adv once had a coil problem. Everything was normal until the engine heated up after 10 min or so.Then a missfire/loss of power at all revs. Felt like a fuel problem but it was the forward ign coil. New coil solved it. Can you borrow one and try it?

Just switch them, if you get a cilinder #2 code it's the coil.

The weirdest thing is that I pulled a wheelie and as soon as the front wheel landed, that's when the bike went into a limp mode... FI light flashing and barely enough power to make it Home, about 1 km...

As for borrowing one, there is no other KTM Adventure, or KTM at all, that I know of 300 kms around me!! I live in a remote town of Northern Alberta. And yes, I'll try to swap them, and see what happens... Just probing to see if it happened to someone else.

I'd expect a bad connection if it happend like that. Check all electronic connections upto the coils and plugs. Clean and grease all connections while you're at it.

Good news!! After tearing it down, and checking all my connections, swapping the coils, and taking out the spark plug, the error code has disappeared!!

Now, all I have to do is putting it back together and see if she works fine!!

Thanks for the support guys...
